I've been looking for a good photography community on LJ where people can ask questions about the "how to's" and "where's" and so forth about photography without wading through a huge amount of random photography. There's nothing wrong with Flickr or established LJ groups which share photos, but I wanted a group that is dedicated to discussing the technical aspects of the medium.

I haven't found one, so I started one! You can find it at : beyondpictures.

The basis of the community is to share any and all news, reviews, questions, techniques, comparisons, etc. etc. related to photography -- in other words, what else there is out there about photography besides simply pointing the lens and pressing the button.

Anybody is welcome to join - the more the merrier, and the deeper the pool of knowledge!
